Finding your site and deciding that you definitely got the best one around...just enough slope and shade...and not that far from the showers. Putting up the tent and not quite getting it on the first try, but having a great time trying. Everyone piled on the ground in sleeping bags at night, talking until our voices get hoarse with sleep. Hikes to rocks with amazing views and perfect spots for lunch. Campfires at night...folding chairs all around, all in sweatshirts with the cooler, sticks and marshmallows...it's a bit chilly but you can actually see the stars. Maybe a day at the lake...swimming or rafting. Small rapids show just how unskilled you are at rowing, but you get where you have to go in the end anyway. Getting water from the spigot late night walks with flashlights to the bathroom, hoping you're taking the right path. Someone said a bear got into one of the other sites during the night.
Basically I found what I'm doing my speech on and we all have to go camping. For real.
