So, I've got this bearded dragon. His name is Oolong. My fiance found him on the side of the road, fighting a cat. We couldn't locate his original owner, & since one of my roomies always wanted a beardie, we kept Oolong rather than finding a nice reptile rescue to take him in ( Read more... )

He's gorgeous! I love that brilliant red coloration. :)

Those will likely have to be lanced and drained in order for him to survive a healthy life. I suggest you get him to a vet thats reptile knowledgable.

Um... yeah... He's been to 3 different herp-savvy vets & all of the abscesses have been drained multiple times (you can clearly see the scars in the pix). Re-read my entire post (including the stuff behind the LJ cut) if you're still unclear on what we've done/are doing for Oolong.

BTW, it's exactly this kind of response that makes me not want to post pix of Oolong anywhere, ever. ;P

Aw, your poor little guy!

I've tried force-feeding Oolong before, & it's not pretty. ;P It just occurred to me, though, that I should try syringing him some baby food... he's usually pretty good at licking stuff off his nose once he figures out it's tasty.

Hmmmmm...

Aww, he's such a cute widdle monster, though! :D

And might I say a big "GOOD JOB" for what you have done with/for him. A lot of people wouldn't spend so much time, effort, and money on such a small creature, and it warms my heart to know there are still good people in the pet world.
