I have a bunch of pictures on my phone that I keep meaning to upload. These are from Pittsburgh.
There is a huge park and bisecting the lawn is this narrow strip of dirt from people riding their bikes over the same spot day after day... I just think it's cool how there's just that one thin line through the grass, instead of a thicker, ruttier path.
View one of Scott, Sam and Sarah's backyard. The Monongahela river and the waterfront, across the river.
View two.
View three.
Chandelier inside the entrance of Phipps Conservatory... Saweet. As you can see, we got there around dusk, before it had that "nighttime feel".
Pretty orange fiery flamingoesque glass!
Yellow swirly glass!
This was standing outside, looking into the southeast asian plant room. There was a sort of courtyard and we went out to get a breath of fresh air.
I dub this "venereal disease orchid". Jokes. I always love visiting the orchid room at Phipps.
Stupid artsy photo. Also wanted to capture how freaking PACKED the exhibit was.
Probably my favorite piece/room.
Katy and I hung out!! Among other things, we went to see an exhibit at this gallery downtown called... well I forget what the gallery was called. But that is what the entryway looked like.
This makes me think of MST3K movies. Who knows why.
I wanted to look like I was casting a spell, because it was the only thing I could think of to do in that room, to take advantage of the video/mirroring effects going on. (nyyyyeeerrrdd)
Pixellated woodburning at another exhibit. Type-thing. Ish. Kinda cool anyways.
Weird chairs in the park. We sat in them.
Ah, Pittsburgh. Where else can you find fake trees that are eternally flowering? Cute.
End of the trip. Scotty, Lou, Karen and I went to eat at this antique store that has a giant buffet brunch on Sundays (ALL VEGAN). Noelle, you would have LOVED IT. Well, Julie too, come to think of it. DELICIOUS. Also, I saw a boy with a Defiance, Ohio shirt on, so it completed the "missing my friendthhhh" feeling.
I'm not sure if that will work, but I took a video to show Noelle how cool the brunchy place was.
Yertle is a BITCH to Clyde!!! Stupid bully turtle. Check out them face-shoves.
That's the end of the Pittsburgh stuff. Random stuff from my phone:
Jesse is a guitar hero?
The lighting ended up pretty sweet on that one.
I was REALLY excited (and scared?) about the DQ peanut ice cream sundae thing I got at work one day.
