"there was a little girl who had a little curl right in the middle of her forehead"

back from DC! DC was okay, but about half way through the week i had sort of had enough and i started getting really snappy, ending in a complete meltdown on the busride home, but it was still pretty good. monday we got to DC then went out on a ride around college park/DC (even though we got lost and ended up in virginia) which resulted in such jewels as, "buffalo wings? what does that have to do with chicken?" (lol). then we went to a cute italian restaraunt next to the kidinabucket place (lol). tuesday the boyscouts went to arlington to put a wreath on the grave of the unknown soldier. we just ended up hiking all the way up arlington, me in flip flops that disintegrated my feet, then back down again to meet my cousin. but still, arlington is pretty crazy. there are rows upon rows of little marble graves as far as you can see in either direction. a field of graves like you might see a field of corn, or like many many teeth of some beast. but then we met jenny and she took us out to lunch, then off to get pedicures/manicures (because she's jenny), then shopping in georgetown. i ended up getting two dresses and a pair of shoes from betsy johnson (much to my dismay- i almost punched her for spending that much money on me but she seriously wouldn't take no for an answer). then we went to einstein (cuz it echoes), vietnam (because it's really powerful), and lincoln (because he's the man) monuments; those are the only three besides washington and jefferson (that we drove by) that are really worth seeing. we went back to college park for dinner and ended up going to a restaraunt/bar for dinner, which totally turned me off drinking for the rest of my life. there were all these gross guys playing beer pong and watching baseball and the whole affair was disgusting. the service was ridiculously slow and it was annoying. then next day we had a tour of the capital building (hell on a stick). you're not allowed to bring ANYTHING in, i almost had to pitch my good water bottle. i did throw away my spray stuff. oh and you're not allowed to sit in federal buildings unless it's in protest. i was in protest, but boyscout moms are ridiculous and irritating. and boyscouts smell. i was tired and my knee was aching and i was ready to punch someone. rosa delauro smells like my grandma, is way too friendly, and wears tacky, rainbow dress suits. our intern looked like john legend. he was nice at least. i pissed off the tall one because i was a lot of trouble that day, but he didn't really talk. oh and we went to the spy museum that day. lyssa and i climbed through an air duct, and that was pretty much the highlight. and looking at all the fancy guns and gadgets. the basement were it was talking about the cold was smelled like backed up sewers. we went home and got subway for dinner and watched everything illuminated on TV. we decided to go exploring and found this scary mall that had like 5 stores in it and the rest were closed. there was no one there. it was terrifying. it reminded me of a dying animal. but then we went and got frosties and everything was better, except for the cloud left by the mall. thursday we went on a tour of the whitehouse which was sorta dumb cuz you only got to see a little bit of it and the special agents watched you like you were some kind of deranged criminal. the mansions at newport are way more impressive. then we did some museums. we went on a flight simulator at air and space and own'd. hell yeah- 6 kills. which is actually kind of a lot. those flight simulators rock. you even go upside down and stuff. then me and lyssa saved hannah fowler, and looked through a few more exhibits. then we looked around the native american museum. the architecture was really gorgeous and they had dresses/bead work that were really cool. we walked up to china town for lunch to my favorite chinese place ever in the world (chinatown garden just in case you're ever in the area- it's right down the road from the big arch). it was amazingly good. then we went to the folk festival, but it started pouring. we kept looking around anyway. then we went to the museum of natural history for like 5 seconds because the guys got tired. we ate gelato that was actually just expensive ice cream and looked through the jewel exhibit. that's all julia wanted to do. then back to the bus through the vicious humidity and heat. we went back to the hotel and ordered a pizza for dinner and sat around. friday we drove home (worst day ever). first we drove to gettysburg (BORING) and had a TWO HOUR TOUR with some guy who probably cared more about gettysburg than anything else in the world. i really hate american history. it was just driving through fields full of monuments for two hours hearing random stories that all sounded the same. then we just had to stay to look around the little museum for an hour and half which was WAY to long and caused us not to get home until super late and me not to be able to see zak for another three weeks. i hate my life. then on the bus ride home from gettysburg we watched the FOUR. HOUR. MOVIE. called gettysburg, which is basically every single detail of the battle. and the volume was up SO LOUD that i almost blew my ears out trying to listen to my f'ing ipod. i was SO MAD. the bus smelled like ass too from stupid boyscouts and the stupid toilet in the bus, i could barely breath. kevin sibley sprayed some axe, but it really didn't do much. we stopped to eat but i didn't want to but my mom made me anyway. i got back on the bus and called zak and talked for a few minutes but that only lasted.... a few minutes. then i had a breakdown and i just sat in a little ball for like and hour. then i read until there wasn't anymore light. then i got involved in helping pwn jason gribko which was possibly the funniest thing ever. hannah fowler called jason from julia's phone to kevin sibley's phone and pretending she was a college freshman that was interested in jason. jason thought he was tricking her because he said he was kevin, but we ended up pwn'ing him very badly. he was mad. then i turned on deathcab for cutie and went to sleep until we got home.

that was my trip to dc. i got my report card- all A's except for my chem final (WEIRD) and my algebra quarter grade (i'm happy it's a B). so that's pretty good. i picked a million peas this morning and popped all of them- it literally took me about 2 hours. i went for a run. picked some black caps. then i went to the farm and had a good ride, then hung out with whitney for a while and went to get ice cream from dairy serv. that was fun. now i'm home and just chillin'. i need to go unpack. i got the material to make my prom dress for next year, i'm going to try to get it at least put together over the summer.

so far this summer's been pretty good. i'm just hoping it stays this way/gets better. i'm really putting all my money on it.

i think i'm gonna cut my hair this week.

working camp mon-fri 9-1 this week, but call if you want to do something in the afternoons- i'll have my phone with me pretty much all the time. (:
