They talked about his new album "Lucky Old Sun", his return to the Caribbean, his life post break-up with actress Renee Zellweger, among many other things. Let's talk about the song "Nowhere to Go, Nowhere to Be." Tell us about Trinidad Charlie.
"...I sat there with him. After a couple of hours, I realized that for the first time -- in probably a year and a-half -- that I was completely still, and my heart was still, my soul was still, my head was still. I wasn't thinking about what I had to do. I didn't think about any expectations. I wasn't thinking about the good reason that I had to be somewhere else. It was just me and Charlie, and that was it..."
Like "Way Down Here." Talk to us about it.
"... So, after Christmas, I got on the plane and went back down and met my boat captain, Ben, and he picked me up on the boat. I looked at him, and the first thing I said to him was, "Well, if I'm going to be down, I'm going to be down here." ... That whole song was about my emotion that day. ... And when I got down there, I didn't really feel that much better, but I just kind of inhaled a little bit better and exhaled even better, and so that's where that song was born."
