Yes, I would love to see UGA go unbeaten each year but I LOVE the unpredictability of college football this year. The teams that I wanted to lose have lost--as have all the teams I love. But it leveled the playing field. I'm tired of fans and the experts and the BCS voters putting their favorite teams on pedestals each year. I'm tired of USC getting the number one ranking at the beginning of the season and then playing a lukewarm schedule. With not many real fights during their season, it's not hard to stay number one. I'm not saying they're a bad football team; I'm saying no one should have that type of support from the BCS.
I'm thrilled that Notre Dame is doing terribly. I don't have much beef with the team except everyone's always talking about them--I've been paying close attention to college football since 2001and Notre Dame hasn't done a thing in the last 7 years -- please stop talking about them like they just came off a championship win last season.
I think this is the best thing to happen to college football in a long time. It removes the mundane and makes watching football fun again--who knows who is going to win and who is going to lose each week? That's part of the fun. I let out a gasp of horror to see that South Carolina lost to Vanderbilt today. Vanderbilt's a much better team than people give them credit for (particularly people who don't pay attention to the SEC). They beat a poorly-performing UGA team last year but I'll give them credit for playing a good game. And this year, South Carolina got pulled down. It's shocking, it's exciting, it's exactly what college football needs to break itself out of polls that were lacking any originality at all. Everyone was picking their usual favorites and they all sit in shock to watch their favorites lose.
It hurts, doesn't it? Maybe if it's your job to vote in the polls, you should pay attention to what the teams are doing instead of staring at the pretty colors of your favorite team.
