This morning was my interview with Proctor and Gamble (the company that makes, uh, everything, including: Secret, Old Spice, Pringles, Herbal Essence, Crest, Tide, Scope, Bounty, etc). I hope it went well because I really want that job. Even if I don't get it, though, I was happy to at least have the experience of having an interview with them. Afterall, they only preselected 10 people from Northwestern for interviews. Their program sounds amazing, though. I'm worried that I emphasized non-engineering aspects of myself (dorm government, writing, etc.) more than I should have (seeing as how the job is technical). For example, one of the questions regarded having to give people feedback based on data. I couldn't think of a specific answer on the spot and I didn't want to waste too much time thinking of one, so I transferred this question to apply to giving feedback as a writing tutor. I think that they probably understand that it is difficult to come up with answers to their questions in such a short period of time, but I still feel dumb for not concentrating more on my technical skills. They claim, however, that they are looking for diversity.. so maybe this will work in my favor? All I know is they won't be taking very many people (maybe 3 or less) so I won't get my hopes up. Plus, it's out of my hands now. Got a free gift basket of their products out of it, at least.
Oh, and we don't find out until the end of December. Too long. And if we are chosen, they fly us out to Cincinatti for an on-site interview with whoever would be in charge of us. ::crosses fingers, but certainly doesn't hold breath, as that would probably result in death::.
In conclusion, I'll probably work at Starbucks this summer. Tehehe.
