the trip.

thursday:
it's a long drive from south lyon, michigan to charleston, illinois. it's even longer when you get caught in traffic trying to get on i80 between the illinois/indiana state borders -- ugh. anyway. when i got to eastern illinois university (in charleston -- where i was staying), i had full intentions of hanging out with my friend scott all night because we had talked about it the night before. instead, i was greeted with hugs and kisses and "oh my god you're here"'s and went out with cortney, kristin, & john for dinner at el rancherito. mmm, mexican food.

after dinner, i went back to scott's room so we could hang out for the night and we had plans for me to stay over since he has a double as a single which means he's got an extra bed. we were up all night talking about how much things have changed since we first started talking & since i've left.

friday:
left scott's before noon since he had class and went over to lawson hall where i used to live... called cortney and halie. halie was sleeping i think, so i sat outside for a little while with a few friends. it wasn't anything special. we called john at 1 or 2 to say we wanted to drive out to terre haute, indiana to get our septums pierced and since they both had class at three, we left at four. julie came with us.

so i guess i might mention that the guy that does my piercings is casey.. he's pretty awesome. and we all agree that he's pretty hot, too. well. he's been piercing for 2.5 years, but he's still an apprentice, so when we came in to say we wanted our septums pierced, he was skeptical about it and very truthful, saying he would do them, but he's only done two before. so we decided to be his guinea pigs (we as in me and halie) -- and he did an AWESOME job. the worst part about it was getting the jewelry through.

after the piercing party, we went to the olive garden and scared our waitress a whole hell of a lot, and drove back to eastern. partied at the dodgeball house for a little while, but it was pretty packed and kind of full and when we got there we paid for our beer only to find out they were running dry.. we stuck around to watch beer pong for a while and one of the guy's announced they were out getting more beer, but we were heading out anyway. on the way home i took a drag off john's marlboro red that made me gag, which then made me vomit... quite amusing, actually. we couldn't stop laughing. after that we hung out in john's room for a while.

me and halie. i don't remember where we were going.

after a long drive with the windows down, they've got hot hair! halie & julie.

casey, my favorite piercer person ever!

the HUGE BALLS they put on our septum rings... which we took off.

john had an 8g needle shoved through his ear. mmm.

julie and me, olive garden. huge balls. yes.

saturday:
we woke up late, so we didn't do much. but i guess the significance of saturday is the fact that i smoked a bowl with halie for the first time ever. actually, got high for the first time ever. and that was pretty interesting... i might just leave it at that. okay seriously... being high was scary and exciting and fun all at the same time, and as long as halie never makes me drive my car out to the lake again to do it, i think we'll be alright.

on the way home, i was doing fine, until apparently all of the pot actually hit me... and then each time i tried to bring my hand up to the turn signal or shift gears (my car is a manual 2000 z24 cavalier), my hand-eye coordination was pretty shot and my reaction time was way off so i couldn't seem to turn the car, shift gears, slow down or speed up all at the same time, which scared the hell out of me. so we pulled into a gas station and sat for maybe 20 minutes, laughing our asses off about who even knows what -- but it was quite comical.

after, we hung out with john, who was intoxicated... and he blew up a breadstick in his microwave (which, being stoned, was the funniest fucking thing halie and i had ever seen!) i couldn't really sit up straight and i kept zoning out... it was a good night. ha!

high. me and halie.

definitely high.

john. i don't know what he was doing.

sunday:
halie, john and i drove 30 miles south to effingham to put gas in my car because i only had a mobil speedpass with me and there isn't a mobil in charleston. that was an interesting time! when we got back, i spent the day with alex, kristin, julie, & kelly. we're an odd looking group of friends... we were out in the quad playing guitar, smoking, just having a good time. at six or seven, cortney came home and we went to steak n shake to meet up with eddy because he doesn't go to eastern anymore either. eddy goes on tour with tons of bands -- this summer he's doing merchandise for drive-thru records. right now i think he's working for hellogoodbye. i'm not sure.

this almost looks fake.

left at 10 for my grandparents' house in oak forest, illinois on monday. stayed the night, came home on tuesday. it was definitely a great trip -- i know i'm missing tons of fun details!
