Ok so back in june 2007 I had the biggest wake up call ever when I hurt my knee and ankle and had to go for an MRI scan. I filled in a form which asked for my weight and to be honest I hadn't weighed myself in ages. I got on the hospital scales and weighed in at 319 pounds. The nurse told me I couldn't go in that MRI scanner and would need to use the bigger one in another dept, I was horrified at what the nurse told me, I lay in the MRI scanner all those thoughts going through my mind, I felt like I was laying inside my own coffin, I could hardly breathe. In the space of 5 years I had gone from walking 10-15 miles in a day on nice sunny weekends to hardly being able to walk to the shops. After that wake up call I needed to do something about it so I went to my GP, he told me to lose a stone on my own first, so I set to the task and changed my lifestyle, I started eating healthy and trying to do more exercise, often pushing myself to the limit, through the pain barrier in which would eventually end up with me tearing some tendons. I lost 2 stone in 5 months and carried on with my program. I had up's and downs and bouts of serious depression, operations and several treatments in the next 2 years but here I am today weighing 224lbs, I have lost 95lbs and feel good and look better but I still have work to do, I would like to reach a target weight of 195lbs and then see how I go. My motivation was slightly lacking but then I discovered a wonderful woman called Jillian Michaels, she is a coach on The biggest Loser tv show and has worked wonders with her kick ass workouts and regimes. I have become so inspired by her that I have ordered her book and workout dvd and WILL lose the remaining 30lbs. Jillian really seems to know her stuff and has changed my thoughts and approaches to weight loss, she's right in that it's not just a phsical change it's a mental one too. So today I started my plan to lose the weight, this is the start of my journey and I hope whoever reading will follow me to the end of my journey, hopefully an end where Im 30lbs lighter. I have even taken photo's so will show a before and after.
LETS DO THIS THING !!!!!!!!!
