ya, I can get preachy sometimes. I try to keep it to a minimum.

right. Lots of lovely, moralistic posts recently. stop violence, stop watching crap on television, go vegetarian, get back to nature, find the meaning of life and live happily ever after. Now, I agree with all of that, I tend to say the same things fairly often. I'm not criticizing people for writing those things at all, in fact, I'm amazed at how many like minded people there are in my age group, and I'm delighted.
However, (ya, you knew there had to be a but) I think that posting it on the internet is probably the closest one can get to doing nothing at all. Granted, I have too much time on my hands, but I'm still frustrated at how little people actually do to put into action the things they feel strongly about. WE ARE THE NEXT GENERATION!!!! Most of the grade elevens and all of the grade twelves this year are going to be able to vote in the next provincial election! We are finally old enough to start making a difference! As the up and coming voters, all the people currently in power are willing to bend over backwards if it means securing our future votes.
By the time we finish high school, most people are going to move out on their own, which means getting a job, which means less and less time to fight for worthwhile causes. Let's get it together now. If you don't feel up to starting something new, look into the programs already out there. How about Food Not Bombs, the organization that provides vegitarian meals in victoria once a week to anyone in need, plus raising money for food for countries that have been torn apart by the US? There are a ton of organizations, go find them.
I've just the age where I can join these sorts of things this month, so I'm researching several organizations, it's amazing how much there is already in Victoria, they just don't have the publicity to get noticed by the general public. Talk to me, let's actually start doing something for once!
