And some choices are more permanent than others...
The choices we make are permanent and as such, so are their repercussions. Sometimes, it takes a great tragedy to realize the full value and truth of this.
Lisa chose to use heroin. On the other hand, I chose to be accepting of it, rather than give her the crap she probably got from a lot of other people (rightfully).
I'm glad I kept on friendly terms with her and we were able to keep communicating happily. At the same time though, this did more damage, I believe, than help. I could have acted better. I know I have the power to change a person's life and in the future, I will use that power to the fullest of my abilities. I might actually save a life even.
