Overcome

Christ has overcome,
Victory is His,
He has one,
Sin and death defeated,
Satan on the run.

This pride,
Fills the mind,
Selfish desire,
This foul human passion,
Controls actions without knowing,
Acts of good and bad,
Changing this Godly man,
Into a hypocrite,
Creeping in slowly,
Me, never knowing,
God open mine eyes,
Soften this heart,

OH Father!
I cry out to you,
Forgive me God,
My lust is a struggle,
These eyes do shift,
These thoughts, wicked,
I repent,
A slave to this,
I shall be no more.

I hear your gracious reprimand,
Your forgiving spirit,
Through this daily struggle,
You Clean my heart,
Mine ears can hear,
My eyes are pure,
Thank you Father,
You have overcome my sin.
