So now for an in-depth look at a day in the life of Jessica Dunlop. There are no normal days, a fact I'm very proud of.
It started out normally, you know, nothing pressing. My Psych class is practically over and I don't have any more tests in it b/c I've bypassed the final. I still have to show up to class, though; I'm compelled to attend b/c if I don't I won't get attendance points and those look good when the final grade is averaged, no? Must. have. points!
Skipping to after my snack, my studying and my Journalism class... Jen and Mike and I hung out in our newspaper Mac room, ate fruit snacks and rifled through In Motion's morgue. "Morgue," you see, is a fancy term for "the place where really old issues are kept." Much fun. The paper's seriously improved, but then we have an incredible staff this semester.
Now on to the really fun stuff - on an intrepid impulse I decided to take Drakey and his friend/my fake little sister Justine out to Target! I had to get my work schedule, so I thought it'd be a fun adventure for them to come with me into the unknown "team member only" land. On top of that, I love the kids! But... I didn't take into account that I had just bought Justine ice cream from the Ice Cream Man and that Drake was polishing off a full bag of Skittles. Massive sugar highs ensued - races down isles! ecstasy over the new toys! bounce-bounce-bouncerific euphoria! yes! They wanted it all! They needed it all!
I laughed and enjoyed the sight as I carried the naked popsicle stick inside the empty Skittles bag. They didn't get uncontrollably crazy and I thank God's mercy for that miracle. ;) My co-worker said, "You must get paid a bundle to do this!" to which I replied, "No, I just do it for the fun."
I finally dragged Drakey and Justine to the parking lot, but oh my gosh they were literally bouncing. So I held the first annual Target parking lot races ever in an effort to burn off the remaining sugar. Race to the tree! Touch the cart corral! Stop! Go! No cheating! All of this was of course done safely. ;) After about 6 races I called it a night and the kids piled into the Cavalier to head back home. Justine walked back to her house and Drake had to take Melatonin to calm down. :-D
So then I watched 3 episodes of The Office, laughed at DWIGHT (not Dwayne, Jen ;) ) and now I'm here recording my antics for my present friends and future posterity to read and relish in.
Goodnight. :)
