It was a long cold night,
the summer storms burned bright
While I choked on my heart
on the drive to nowhere in the dark.
I think my dreams have all gone
I watched them, fading with the sun.
They fell behind me
as I heard the waves dying on the shore.
Cause it's the tragedy of life
to watch that damned thing rise.
When nobody cares to see,
shattered hopes and broken dreams.
In this Poetic Despair,
It keeps me waiting here.
Longing to see, God
let this shoreline swallow me.
