It still sometimes shocks me that after all of this, civilization and philosophy and the great expansion of knowledge, still the best thing any of us have is each other.
I finished reading East of Eden on Friday. It's funny how the days melt. That day soaked into the warm home of literature. I don't think I had one real thought all day. It's strange how a group of characters, symbols, written on many bound pages of ground up trees could steal us away, hold us there for a time inside our imagination, collective unconsious or whatever and then desert us, heartbroken, back into the real world.
I am applying to like 10 colleges and it is ridiculous.
