Stances

I keep getting asked what my stance on this war is. And honestly, I'm tired of people asking me that question. I'm just a little ant in a big fucking anthill and i don't see the grand effect...all i get to see is what I personally do. Whether or not it does any good, i don't know. We still think we're right, and they still think they're right, so that much hasn't changed. Hopefully, with this new constitution and government system, things will improve and we can all go home. But we can't just pull out now and expect Iraq not to slide back to where it was...it would be like cutting the rope we're hauling it out with. There's still a lot of work to be done, but i think we're past the "war" stage of things...we're on to the "rebuilding" stage...that's what our job is technically defined as. There are some that just want us out...that want things back the way they used to be...but there aren't enough of them to consider this a war. It's more like ongoing struggles.

Anyway, those are my views on this. I just hate being asked that because it seems like just because i'm a warrior, i'm supposed to think in terms of right and wrong...black and white...but sometimes, there are good points made on both sides of the fence and you can't just ignore that. Sometimes, there ARE gray areas, and right and wrong is based on perspective.
