I knew, in this fic, it was my opportunity to write a 'epic' fic that was long enough to flesh out Elle and Claire's relationship in a way that hasn't really been done before. Sylar and Mohinder's chemistry is so damned blatant that it's almost too easy, even if it's just hate sex, you know? But Elle and Claire, they're complex and their hatred of each other came from such different levels that I knew I could have fun with it. This was before I'd seen the last Heroes episode, of course, where the two overcome their hatred with such ease. Even so, I'm still glad for the opportunity to do that with this fic in a much longer way, if that makes any sense at all.. Probably doesn't, I'm sick and the meds I'm taking sort of mess me up, XD.
The Hero Complex was just something I wrote naturally, but you pointed it out that it reminds the readers of just why Claire is doing what she's doing; why she sacrificed some of her family to do so, and I had not thought of it that way, but it's quite true. You always find reasons for something that even the writer did not realize. It's really a talent, you know.
I'm writing Sylar differently then in most my other fics. He's more complex than I'd written him before and even I accept that I've made plenty of mistakes with both Sylar and Mohinder's characterization, most of the time for my own pleasure, O.o. But in this fic, as I've stated before, it's so much longer and I'm able to make it more plausible to his need for challenges, so the next step of Sylar wanting Mohinder's consent was natural. However, it's going to be quite a struggle to achieve.
Sylar and Mohinder's tension: you'd have to be blind not to see it. Seriously! Elle and Claire noticing is no real feat, XD! But having them figure out what to do about it is tons of fun. I'm glad you're enjoying it, ^_^
