Paire Drabble

Jan 01, 2008 18:53

I never thought my first writing of 2008 would be something like this...I blame this entire thing on ladywilde80! Her with her pretty Paire video which I got yet another urge to see today and when I did, I got the muse for this, located Here. (Really great video!)

I never hated Paire, since the reasoning for it is plausible and much like the basis for pairings such as Petrellicest and Mylar, but I never thought I'd write it. Much less het, though this drabble does have Petrellicest undertones if one wishes to see it...Enjoy, I suppose.

Written very quickly, so it's shitty, but I needed to get it out of my friggin' system.

Peter had not seen Claire since the day he exploded. His last memory of her was one of her sad little smiles, and a terrified look on her beautiful, youthful face.

Claire had been prepared to do what she had to. His tough cousin…

She'd known the truth.

He couldn't control his powers and Nathan was going to give up his life to save half of New York.. She'd known that both of them were probably going to die.

And now, nearly five months later, he was going to see her for only one reason. To ask her to save his brother, it was her blood they needed, Peter's couldn't save Nathan.

She would hug him; tell him how happy she was that he was still alive and that she’d missed him too much to describe.

Then Claire would look at him with her hopeful, doe eyes, obviously praying that he was here with no other motive but to see her.

When he told her his real reason, her face would fall, but she'd be happy to help. And after she saved Nathan’s life, she would get Peter alone and beg him to be with her, determined to make him see that there was no one else for her but him.

Claire would always hold that hope within her, she loved him. And Peter loved her, but his heart belonged to someone else and always would.

He would put her down kindly, hold her while she cried, all the while wishing life could be easier.

drabble, paire
