There is so much you can ignore
like its nothing
and you smile and you laugh
just like before. Nothing has changed.
At least not to anyone who you speak to.

at night it creeps like spiders
when all is silent it drips like tears
and you wish your eyelids were heavier
you can't seem to think of anything else.

There has to be someone around
to keep you busy, distracted like always
its getting harder to handle yourself
you can't seem to drink it away
just drink until you're sleeping.

Nothing is awful, usually
but it feels kind of awful sometimes
and theres no way to rid it
so you swallow it like a razor blade
and you wake up and take on another day

as ugly as that can be,
thats just the nature of life.
