2002.
Another year initiates.

-----------------------------------------------

Don't worry I don't really expect you to read this post.
But then again, for those of you still looking to make a New Year's Resolution, feel free to start with:
"I will read Elizabeth's WHOLE ENTIRE entry...and enjoy every word of it..."

See how helpful I can be?

New Year's [Eve] 2002/2003.
What a holiday.

Yesterday during the day, Melissa and I picked up my photos of New York, and went to Best Buy and Zany Brainy so I could purchase my 20% off children's toy accordion. Haha! The power of the accordion is MINE! It's a peachy little instrument, really.

Later, Melissa joined us for dinner and we pretended we were Jewish and did the holiday Chinese dinner thing, since it seemed like the only open restaurant sans a 60 minute wait. We were in the Chinese place and in the middle of the room was a round table with 3 old women and 3 old men. They were so Jewish I thought they were going to turn the restaurant into an episode of Coffee Talk. It was great fun, sitting quietly, listening to their loud voices talk about things they talk about just for conversation's sake; making up augments and agreeing on politics. Hah, I think Melissa felt right at home. They finally left, but before they did the waitress brought up about 17 empty food cartons, and all 6 of them sat there scraping every last bite of uneaten food into their designated container. It was like they were going to go home and have it for lunch for the next 4 days because, as everyone knows, every penny counts. Good fun indeed.

So, drop Melissa off, come home, take a shower, get ready, and call Heather to pick me up, only about an hour and 15 minutes after I said I'd call her. Not too shabby. She picked me up, along with Christina and Jamie, and off to the Vainberg Party we went.

When we got there the mood was pretty much: WOAH, people. There must have been at least 20 of Steve's friends, probably more. If only we had took a head count... Lauren didn't have any EggNog, and for me, it's not New Year's Eve without the Nog, so Jim drove a few of us to Wawa to score some deli-o-cious EggNog. Dammit, they were out of Nog. I was really pissed off. How could they not have Nog? Is this a democracy or what? Stupid Wawa with no Nog. Pssh. Lame - O.

So I resorted to option B. The traditional weekend Wawa Green Tea and Combos. I think it's my 5th week in a row of this combination, ymmmmmm. And to cope with the Lost Nog Tragedy, a 20 oz. coffee and bottle of whipped cream were purchased. It didn't help, but oh well. It was still a good night.

Basically the night was spent in the Vainberg Lair, watching slapstick movies, conversing with fellow friends and newly aquatinted people, mostly about books and colleges. It was quite nice. I met a few new people. Tres bien.

A bunch of people left around 11, just as a whole another group showed up, and everyone (probably something like all 30 of us) stood around the TV at 11:58, watching the everlasting Dick Clark himself. The clock struck 12, the silly string was flying, a good portion of the room was huddled together you-know-what-ing, and then the party really started. No, really. I mean as in a rendition of Andrew W. K.'s semi-popular song, "Party Hard." I think Steve put it on. Very appropriate indeed. It hyped us up, and out front to the driveway the massive crowd herded to commit illegal doings.

Rory had brought with him two boxes of 200 [very noisy and bright] fireworks. It was spiffy. They must have gone off for at least 10 minutes. When they were finally done we tried to go out back and look at the fireworks other people were setting off, but we missed them so half of us hung out front, and the other half went inside.

Oh yes, I almost forgot; my accordion was the hit of the party. Haha, I don't think there was one person there who didn't try it at least once. It was all we head all night, the deep sound of a child's toy accordion. It was funny.

Eventually, the Osbourne's came on, most of the wild herd went home, and all that were left were the 11 or so of us. We watched TV for a bit, a few more people left, and everyone else slept over. Steve had to get up for work today, so we all went to bed about 2, Lauren and Jackie sleeping upstairs, Steve, Alicia, dear cousin Kevin, his girlfriend (Ashley, I think?), Evan, some other guy I didn't really know, and I sleeping in the basement. I think Lauren and Jackie were a little mad I slept in the basement and not upstairs, but oh well. Everyone was pretty much asleep except for Evan and I, and it was dark so we went into the computer room to go online and we ended up talking and playing with the cat until 5:30. Haha, opps? Somewhere before 6 we decided to go to bed and did, even though we barely fell asleep at all.

This morning, we got up, (only after a very long struggle to drag our asses off the couch, screaming MUST HAVE PANCAKES!!!!!!) and Lauren's mom made us pancakes. Yuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmyyyyyyy they were soooooooooooooo gooooooooooooodddddddddddd. It was a lot of fun. My mom came to pick us up at 12:30, we dropped everyone off, stopped at CVS for something for my mom (hairclips maybe? I don't remember), and then I went home where I crawled into my nice big comfy sleigh bed and went to bed until 7:00.

It was a very nice holiday.

-----------------------------------------------

My mom is leaving on business for Orlando tomorrow.
She's going to be gone for 5 days and my stepfather is going to be on nightwork.
Tehe. No curfew for Elizabeth!

Tomorrow I want to stay home and get something done, like wash perhaps, but pssh.
Who wants to hang out?

Friday I believe I will be attending the show at Sacred Grounds, unless of course something more interesting comes up, which basically means I'll be going to Sacred on Friday.

Saturday Jon is supposed to be up from NJ so we all may go into the city in the morning to shop, but I have to back by 2, which is the only problem. Kevin's mom is having us over his house for the family x-X-x - Mas dinner on Saturday so I'm gonna bring Evan and then we're going to go back to his house afterwards so I can hang out with Erin and her bunny. Sounds like a fun-filled day.

Sunday? As in the last day of freedom? Last day of fun? Last day of x-X-x - Mas Vacation? Ahh. I do not know how I will spend this day. I fear going back to the hellhole know as Fungi-High.

To all: Happy 2003.
Now go eat a banana.
