Clicks and crackles in your recordings?

I've been doing a lot of recording in the last week, but almost everything is coming out with a strange set of clicks and crackles that have nothing to do with the kinds of noises I'd expect my own mouth to occasionally make. I'm using Audacity (and a Blue Snowball mic) and the Click Removal tool hasn't done a thing, maybe because the problem only pops in the sections where I'm speaking, rather than the quieter sections between words and paragraphs.
It's been in four of my last five recordings and I'm not really sure what to do about it at this point. Should I be turning my eye to the software or hardware? Has anyone had similar experiences? How did you resolve the problem?
