experience with mp3 players with microphones?
So, uhm. Hi. I've been thinking about making podfics for a while, and I have the technical stuff down (I used to podcast a little) more or less, at least. I'm having trouble finding a good, affordable recording device. I could use my headset, but it's only good enough for skype calls and it's almost impossible to get it quiet enough in the house without staying up to record at three AM... and as voice recorders with the ability to connect to computers cost about $200 dollars where I am but I remembered I had seen someone had mentioned using an MP3 player with a microphone.
I've found a few that look acceptable like the Samsung U5 and a few of the Creative Zen line... but I was wondering if anyone had any preferences or experience? Perhaps an idea of the sound quality they produce... or if this is a bad idea?
