So, I'm working (I say working, I'm re-recording the entire thing) on a podfic in which explicit violence plays a large(ish) part, and I know that some fans/potential listeners are not fans of the violence, but everything else in the fic.
I'm thinking of adding a small sound effect to signal an upcoming scene so listeners can opt to hit the skip button and move on to the next scene, or the end of the explicit scene, and skip the icky parts. (In podbooks it would be to the next chapter, for MP3 files, you'd create a multi-file podfic.)
Have any of you done anything like this before? Do you think a podfic would benefit from it? Or any listener? Would it be too annoying for other listeners to have this sound effect? Or is it considered too much work to create all the additional chapters and files?
