This is one that I wasn't sure if I'd include because I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it. Ultimately, though, it's definitely a crime show that's not like a lot of crime shows: dreamy and artsy, with a highly unconventional protagonist and antagonist, a prequel to a well-known franchise that delivers on twists and suspense.

I loved S8 of Supernatural for a lot of reasons, most of which were emphatically the opposite of "profound." A few of them, though, were at least to me kind of a big deal. Most crucially, I think the season did a wonderful job interrogating the show's treatment of sociological difference, which has been...uneven. AKA, the first two parts of ( Read more... )

I’ve been waiting for Elementary to disappoint me since I got into it, and sure enough, last night’s episode is not sitting well. I actually put this up on tumblr at first because it was going to be me venting quickly, but it turned into a whole ~thing and I'd ultimately rather discuss on journal, so.
