I adore CJ! Thanks for the linkage! I also heart the CJ/Charlie relationship. A lot of the TWW characters are snarky and playful but CJ and Charlie really take it up to their own level.
I agree that it's very in character for CJ to look past Charlie's surface gambit to see what he really wants. CJ was hired to be the Face of the administration, but she looks past the surface a lot in spite of or perhaps *through* her acuity in surfaces.

That's a really good way to put it. Her thing is almost always all about accessibility and accurate representation of what she knows to be true, or failing that what she believes to be for the best.
