(I actually assume we've all done our due diligence and nobody will be particularly surprised by my, um, opinionated tone! But I do usually put a little more thought into posts than this, ftr. And also, this is an SPN post but HI to all new people! *tackle-glomps*)

OH HAY! I'm glad you haven't ditched LJ entirely.

I have a pretty good idea of the post you're referring to here. I think. BUT ANYWAY.

hahaha, that puts you ahead of me, I had to go looking through PMs to figure out what post I meant. I've seen so much bullshit in the last couple of months it's all started blurring together.

While objectively I can admire Sam's arc (and it is a magnificent arc), I did hate that moment in 7.17 when Castiel took away the worst of Sam's breakdown--I was really enjoying having Hallucifer as an excuse to be able to get into Sam's head.

I mean, that's fair, I'm not saying the story has to work for everyone the way it works for me. But I just am so tired of trying to avoid the whining from the enormous segment of fandom that can talk about nothing but how it feels personally victimized by Regina George THE WRITURRRRZZZZ and how they write Sam "wrong" - ie, refuse to turn every episode of this show into goddamn Sesame Street, complete with little words explaining uncomplicated relationships between interchangeable puppets who Feel Their Feelings on demand, and this failure somehow makes THE WRITURRRRRZZZ the stupid ones. You know?

I'm ~trying to stop myself from being so emotionally entangled in the show that I can't even enjoy it like I used to.

ha, yeah, this is a show that's almost too good at drawing us into the characters' perspectives. SAM'S PAIN IS MY PAIN IT'S A LOT OF PAIN OKAY.
