The murder of Ellen made me furious and stuck with me for a long time. And it’s not that I needed a reason per se to be pissed about this (because, and not to put too fine a point on this: murder), but it sat differently than even the most an egregious case of fridging would have. I mean, I know I’ve gotten a bit tiresome on the tactical non-

Hmm... I freely admit that when I first saw this scene that it broke my heart, and I'm not sure I remember who I felt worse for back then. Story-wise, I think they (TPTB - if I am using this term correctly) were just aiming for all the emotional chords possible and didn't even really consider all the other implications it had, but if I think any more about it... yeah... I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing to think so much about it, but I can only imagine how tiring it can be. *continues clinging to zen*
However, I did enjoy the awesome meta of part 1. I don't think I 'fell' for her character that quickly - or as hard as others have. (It's weird - I have a Laura-esque reaction to Ellen Tigh, even when she's awesome, especially when she's awesome, and I think she's most awesome when she's just herself unabashedly.)
I really just want the world/universe to collapse spectacularly and have them become BFFs just to see the hilarity that results (have you seen the series actually by nnaylime and icedteainthebag involving Laura, Ellen, and slumber parties? *is just hoping to cheer and distract and offer a break*).

I fully support the having of zen. I crave zen. I just can't. Tigh can be very entertaining but he is the second worst. He and Bill. Worst. I feel like this is a big problem the show has, to get all worked up about tapping into something powerful and refusing to recognize that that something is also awful.
Laura, Ellen, and slumber parties?
I HAVE NOT SEEN IT BUT I LOVE IT ALREADY. TELL ME MORE.

Nope, *raises hand*, I did too. And I'm stealing the "breath of drunk air" phrase. I feel it will be necessary someday.

which resulted in this awesomeness from icedteainthebag:
http://icedteainthebag.livejournal.com/45298.html That has probably one of the greatest exchange of semi-cracky dialogue between the two ever. (If you want serious dialogue, I'd rec her epic "Two Roads Diverged".)
But after this... I forget. (^_^)"
Of course, there's also the fics in which they really do not get along at all - and one that actually wrote out a drunken cat-fight between the two when Laura attempts to protect an innocent Billy... XD (As you've probably guessed by now, I read anything... if I have the time. XD)
