This was going to be a three-episode post but then my Day in the Life thoughts got entirely out of control.  SHOCKED.  I KNOW.

Aww, I just liked the end of Taking a Break. That's the kind of thing they've been doing all along in my head. LOVE THEM. LOVE.

I have mixed feelings about The Woman King. Morality-wise, it felt like The Farm. Like, yes, it's an extreme example, but I liked the way it was contextualized with systemic issues and characters we don't expect to act this way (Cottle and Sharon especially) and still showing the reasons why they would. ITA that they picked the wrong characters to focus on, though. Such a waste of Zarek to have him on and then talking about anything but the Saggitarons.

and you know he would love the shit out of how he sounds like the voice of Zeus in Baltar’s head

I lol'd.

He finally admits that he was hoping all along to have been a Cylon, because then nobody was betrayed.

YES. I LOVE it. I love Gaius particularly hard in this part of the season.

I have to say, I don’t believe Lee/Dee.

Yeah. Bunch of deleted scenes, etc. The only time I really get why they're attracted to each other is some episode where they hang out in S4.

Though, pathetic as he is right now, what the fuck is wrong with all of these people at this point, that they can just wander on by someone sitting on the floor crying?

I get the impression that people breaking down aren't uncommon occurrences. Plus, he's like their commanding officer, it's ~weird~. Or something.

I don’t think he really expects anyone to be listening when he talks.Huh. That's an interesting way of putting it. I think that "going off-script" is like the end of the world to Lee; he figures that if he says what people expect him to say, he can keep his ( ... )

I'm glad to hear there was at least some Lee/Dee at some point. I feel like...Kara/Sam makes sense to me, because I understand what brought them together, and we see Sam in enough other situations to understand why he acts the way he does towards her. But Dee just never gets prioritized that way so I don't know what's going on in her head. I know what she thinks is going on in Lee's head.

I think that "going off-script" is like the end of the world to Lee; he figures that if he says what people expect him to say, he can keep his world from imploding.I don't think he expects the things he says to have any positive impact. The best he can do is say what's expected and not make waves. Sometimes he can keep the status quo. But actually listening, to the extent that it'll change someone's mind? That Dee will walk out the door when he challenges her to do just that? I don't think he realizes that. YOU ARE TOTALLY DRAGGING ME TO THE DARK SIDE ON LEE. I WAS HAVING SO MUCH FUN SNARKING ON HIM ( ... )

Yeah, not enough Dee-POV time. Tut tut.

HAHAHAHA THE DARK SIDE. Well to be fair, that does not preclude snarking on the guy. I'm a believer in equal-opportunity snark, really.

lee's not convinced of it either. this will always be the problem.

So are we seeing Lee/Dee from Lee's perspective entirely? That's kind of disturbing as well, because Dee is so skin-deep in all of those scenes. Like he's really trying not to know her very well.

kara/leoben

what. dnw

I don't know, maybe I'm latching on to the Tyrol-Lee broship for some reason because there's just not a believable number of friendships on board, you know? These people are locked onto this ship for the rest of their lives. You'd get close to someone besides your spouse, you'd have to, just to keep it together. But there's Bill and Saul, Kara and both Helo and Sharon, and maybe maybe if you reach way back Felix and Dee. It sounds so lonely.

this is when kara steps forward and lee steps back

oh my gosh, yes. And even though I know, I know, I know why he does it, I think this is my thing about empathizing more with Kara coming into play, because I'm like WHAT ARE YOU DOING. LOOK AT HER FACE. Even though this is way, way less terrible than ( ... )
