OK, seriously, if you're worried about this, don't be. I like all sorts of things. Angst that makes me feel legitimate pain? Great! Silly shenanigans? Awesome! Fluffy romance? Cool! I like fics of all sorts. I am a sucker for character development, worldbuilding, crackpot theories and random headcanon.

OK guys seriously, I have no shame. My squicks are minimal, and I don't see how anything I prompted for this exchange would be conducive to any of them. If you have concerns, though, just bother

Enthusiastically, both! I only prompted one shippy thing this year (the Hayley femslash prompt), but even that could easily be interpreted as a genfic, if you wanted to make it just about her identity and experience as a lesbian rather than pair her with anyone. Likewise, if you want to put ships into any of the more gen-ish prompts, please, feel free! I am an equal opportunity shipper; I dig het, slash, and femslash alike. I don't dig pairings with major age gaps or mentor/student dynamics, but the circumstance of the fic itself could sway me on such a pairing. (Again, ask Bats if you have concerns.) Also, please refrain from writing me any Jake/Gia unless it's prefaced with Jake realizing he's been a creepy douche and changing his ways.
The Prompts!
In which Ms. Applebee was a Power Ranger:
I said I'd accept any fic with this premise, and I hold to that. Royce Herron is great and Ms. Applebee is great, and there needs to be fic. Some possible fills for this one:
- My friend Tobi is a genius and generated a headcanon in which Ms. Applebee, Mr. Caplan, Lt. Stone, Adelle, and Ernie were a Ranger team. That's just one possible suggestion; if you want to come up with your own team for her, that would be equally cool.
- What was MMPR like for her, as a former Ranger teaching other Rangers?
- Did her Ranger!students ever find out about her? What if she just turned up at one of those Ranger reunions everyone always writes about, and broke everybody's brain?
- A circa Dino Thunder fic in which she has a come-to-Jesus talk with Tommy about teaching Rangers and/or the general poor life choices she's been making.
- A circa Super Megaforce fic in which she was on one of the pre-MMPR teams that they've been turning into with zero explanation, and acts as their mentor-of-the-week.
Show me your Orion headcanons:
I have literally nothing to say about this that wasn't already in the prompt. I love aliens. I love worldbuilding. I love character studies. I love Orion and I think PRSM has given him a major shaft. I also generated no fewer than half a dozen explanations for why he didn't want to kiss Emma, and I would welcome fic about any of those or your own. Seriously, go wild with the headcanon here.
Lady Reds!
Once again, I would seriously welcome anything for this prompt. Have them team up, have them fight each other, show me Charlie as a tiny child circa Samurai with Lauren as her big damn hero. Don't care. Just...acknowledgement that there have been TWO female Red Rangers, even if one did go astray.
In which Hayley is a lesbian:
OK far be it for me to use my dear author letter to pimp my podcast, but this whole thing came about as a result of the Toku Ladies Podcast interview with Jackie Marchand. It's worth listening to for numerous reasons, if you haven't already. I mentioned above, this can be shippy or more of a character study. If shippy, I will accept literally ANY pairing for her.
