So Larry Miller came to my college and performed his comedy show "Cocktails with Larry Miller: Little League, Adultery & Other Bad Ideas" and, needless to say, it was flipping hilarious!!! If he ever comes back I wouldn't think twice about going to see him again. I ended up buying his book during the intermission and after the show he was doing signings and pictures. I was able to get both! I luckily didn't have to wait long in line. Actually, when it came my turn I found myself practically speechless. I've never really met anyone famous before so to be only inches away from one was pretty mindblowing, but I did act better than I thought I might. He signed my pamphlet/playbill thingy and the book I bought, which when I handed it to him was like "Oh look, a book!" LOL!
But yeah I got a picture with him, shook his hand, and siad how great it was to meet him (which he surpringly replied back that it was great to meet me too). He was nice, he smiled at me (at which I mentally commanded myself then to move along), and I came back to my dorm.
A couple of other borign adventures of the night coincide with this, but I won't get into them. 1) I was almost at the building when I turned around and went back across the street and all the way back to my dorm on the 3rd floor in order to grab my watch and ipod (thank goodness I went back for the ipod or else I would not have gotten the picture with LM). 2) I sat next to these two little old ladies who were (in a good way) buckets of fun to talk to. I surpringly talked to them mostly during the intermission rather than before the show; I guess I was a bit (for lack of a better term) looser and in a giddy state of mood. And when I say "looser" and "giddy" I am not referring to being drunk, for I am and was not. I mean more relaxed because I had been laughing for about an hour before the intermission.
Anyway, I had a fantastic time and Larry Miller was brilliant, and if he ever comes near you, go to his show. Trust me, it is SO worth it!!
meeting awesome people,
love me
