Ugh! So I tried watching "Wizard of Gore" with Crispin Glover today, and all I got was confusion and a dead Crispy. Seriously, I couldn't follow the story and the only character I thought was worth watching the movie for died! As soon as that happened, I stopped it. I mean, the story was interesting for a horror, until the second girl died. It's like suddenly two bodies show up dead and the second girl is practically forgot about. The plot kinda gets confusing from there on in. And other than the coronor guy, where the heck are the rest of the police force? Hell, the coronor guy wasn't even all that convincing. I couldn't even make up my mind whether or not I liked any of the characters. I just couldn't even finish the movie.
I guess the only thing I liked was Crispy's performance. Am I the only one who realizes that his character has a frikkin boner all the time? I actually found that funny more than anything else. He was very creepy and not to mention he has a Creepy Thin Man moment with the main character's girlfriend when he stabs her. Oh, crispy, did you you think we wouldn't spot that? XD So, other than the boob-gropage, boner, and torcherous ways he killed people... or didn't -damn confusing plotline! DX- I liked the character. I think what I liked most about the character was his evil laugh. Crispin pulled off that evil laugh terrifically!
So if I had to rate the movie one out of ten, with ten being the highest, I'd give it a four. I understood what they were trying to do with it, but it simply got confusing and I couldn't even finish it. I would love someone to explain to me what the heck was happening in terms I could understand. But no, I don't recommend this movie to anyone looking for a good story. yes to those looking for a violent movie, or heck even a Crispin Glover fan. But if you're looking for an excellent movie, don't look there.
