i'm in the minority, apparently

So, everyone on my f-list is raving about tonight's House (someone ranked it up there with "Three Stories" as one of the best ever), and... well, I was deeply unsatisfied by it.

I figured out it was a dream/hallucination after about ten minutes, once the ducklings started doing what he said without question and understanding his fucked up metaphors. And while I think all of the deconstructing of House's psyche was slightly more interesting once we found out it was all him and not him talking to some guy, I still...I'm really kind of bored when this show dedicates tons of time to people talking about what makes House such a grumpy asshole. I don't watch this show for psych 101, and basically every time the show DOES deconstruct House, they say the same things over and over again. So yes, I suppose it was interesting that it was House thinking these things about himself, but they're the same things that people have been saying for two years and Hugh Laurie is a good enough actor that for two years, we've understood that House KNOWS these things about himself, even if he won't admit them to other people.

Which, SURPRISE! At the end of the episode he HASN'T admitted them to other people, just to himself, which we sort of already know he does.

I dunno. I was really unhappy. My favourite part of the episode was when Wilson was doing his physical therapy for him. Also, when he got handcuffed to the bed. So sue me, I'm all about sight gags.

In non-teevee related news, apparently psyfalcon is organizing a trip down the shore for the day. Before beaches open, so it's going to be a geeky "historical sight-seeing and geological studying" trip down the shore. It's going to be awesome.

Also, I should be writing, but instead I'm doing this. scrollgirl is a terrible influence. I just think you all should know that.

I need to go write an e-mail about my birthday!

eta: How could I forget my favourite part from tonight's House? (Actually, it's cause it happened in the teaser.) But oh my god, how amazing was it when Foreman put his coat on and said he was going to the movies? Foreman, you are amazing and clearly the best character on this show. And the only one without Daddy!issues. And I heart you, forever and ever. ♥

house, teevee, friends
