Well, first off, I'm super impressed by your kidnapping skills, so good on you! That must have taken some hard work and/or a craftily place trail of cocaine to your basement. Also, as you live in an apartment, I guess you also had to build a basement, which is equally impressive.
My default answer to this for years was what I saw as a mash-up of all the things I liked about his previous shows: a behind the scenes show about the cable news industry. Unfortunately, when he actually DID write that show, it turned out to be really crappy, with none of the charm of his previous outings and with the smarminess that was normally softened by the charm dialed up to about eleven.
I really don't like The Newsroom, which is disappointing /o\
So, obviously my answer has changed and I don't know that I know what it is! The first thing that comes to mind is a sort of West Wing update. Like, pretending that seasons 5-7 didn't really exist, a continuation of The West Wing ten, fifteen years down the road with Sam as President and Josh as CoS and everyone in new positions within the new White House. It would be ideal, really, because a) I know all the actors/characters would have the right level of charm v. arrogance, as they've all done this before, b) I love "getting the band back together" stories, and c) we'd get some updates on the characters we already love/input on newer issues.
