Hello, internet. I'm hugging you in advance, because today seems to have been universally crappy for everyone.

Today I got a package from my mom that contained a lot of socks. Also, I went to work. I spent a lot of time mulling over head-in-a-bottle!Chuck's backstory for this epic thing I'd like to write once I'm sure I won't be jossed. (I am using "jossed" here with its original definition of "having your fic contradicted by canon" and not the newer character death related definition.) I went to the comic shop moved all the clothes in my closet around the living room. Now here I am.

Anyway...for those new here or who just weren't interested in the past, I occasionally host a sort of writing exercise here on my journal. When I first started, I referred to it as "a writing chat thingy" and the name stuck.

Essentially, the participants meet in a chat room (we're going to try tinychat.com this time), I throw out a prompt, and set a timer for 15 minutes. The participants then have fifteen minutes to respond to the prompt in the comments of a particular LJ post.

It generally lasts a couple of hours, but people can come and go as they wish. There's no obligation to play every round or to play at all, even, if none of the prompts are particularly inspiring. In between prompts, there's some socializing and chatting and stuff, as well.

Here is a random chat post if you want to get an idea of what we're about and you can always peruse the tag to look a little deeper.

Anyway, if you're interested, take the poll!
