So, mcwonthelottery and I are watching The West Wing. It is her first time. It is very exciting for me. It's the first time I've seen it all in a few years, though I rewatched all of S1 and all of S4 semi-recently and, in case you were wondering, everyone is still perfect and I still love all of them more than I can express.
TWW is one of those things that...I can, objectively, recognize that there are parts of it that are problematic. Emotionally, IT IS THE PERFECT SHOW OF MY HEART THAT NO ONE CAN SPEAK ILL OF BECAUSE IT IS THE PERFECT SHOW OF MY HEART OH MY GOD DID YOU SEE THEIR FACES THEY'RE PERFECT.
Like, every time I rewatch it I think, I'll be more critical this time, BUT NOPE. STILL PERFECT.
Of course, given that my brain still has mutants happening 24/7, now I want an AU where Erik is the senior aide to a crazy independent Congressman, sent to skewer the White House for their position on something or another, only to find himself confronted with an impossibly chipper White House staffer with an incongruous British accent. I'M JUST SAYING.

Also, I can still recite like, every other line of the first two seasons, it's like a sickness.
