So, last night greeneyes73180 was talking about how she wishes she could watch horror movies with me and listen to me yammer about them. Because, I don't know, she was hit on the head or something. But I took it and ran with it and now I'm writing a syllabus for her and I thought I would open it up to the rest of you to see if this is an idea with broader

I didn't tick many tickies for genres... pretty much everything up to International Horror I feel like I'm pretty well versed in, though I wouldn't mind watching again. Haunted houses are a favorite, and torture porn is the only thing that doesn't interest me at all. I can't think of any horror anthologies besides Creepshow, though, so that's interesting. Oh, and shaky cam movies make me motion sick, so I'd probably play hooky on those.
I don't know how much info you'd have on this since I remember you used to watch a lot of horror movies on cable, but I'd also be interested in movies where the director's commentary is particularly insightful. (Why yes, I listened to the CitW commentary today, how could you tell?)
I think this is an awesome idea! Aside from having something to talk about with folks here, Mr. Brienze will probably like watching most of the movies with me, and it would give us some structure to tv usage besides "argue over anime vs Top Chef viewing rights".
Ooh, also, Slither? Kind of more scifi than horror, so I'm curious to see if you'd put that in any of your categories.
