[a fragile connection] Focus - X-Men: First Class - Charles afrocurl December 31 2011, 00:42:51 UTC
It starts in fits--coming, going, phasing. In, out. It must be the drugs, it must be.

Shifting back and forth, or trying, Charles lifts himself up, as best he can, and tries to orient himself.

His mind isn’t reaching far. He can’t seem to push himself into the hallway. It’s never been this hard for him.

Calm yourself, he mentally prods, knowing that there’s a valid explanation ( ... )

He's determined if nothing else. I don't think that changes from the Prof X we saw in FC or what we know from the first movies.

I love the staccato sentences, how it's not quite disjointed but almost there, and how the words are as focused as Charles tries to be.

Thank you. I have a fondness for those types of sentences when it's called for. Well, really, when the mind is focused, it's pretty singular and determined (at least to me.)
