Erm, I just stole that, with credit. I only now noticed I skipped TW, but I think it was because it's not listed alphabetically, but as a subcategory of Doctor Who on the Better Than It Sounds list XD REMEDIED.

Can we write for fandoms that we've read fic of but never seen the actual show? Or is that missing the point?

Whoops! Sorry! This fell through the cracks! I never got an e-mail notification.

And the answer depends. If you think you have a pretty good handle on what the canon is like via the fic, then I'd say "no." But if you've just read a couple fics here and there via recs or because your friends wrote them and your whole knowledge is based on that, then go for it XD
