Having spent the last year surviving a whole new slew of allergies that presented as crazy itchy hives, may I suggest Lubriderm Advanced Care Active AHA for Dry,Flaky Skin lotion? It's crazy weird, and I'm not gonna lie, it stings a little the first couple of times you use it, but! combined with Gold Bond super intense lotion - apply GB at night, L after you shower - it does amazing things for intensely dry skin.

The Lubriderm stuff has a acidic pH balance to it so it exfoliates the dead skin which helps the good skin absorb the awesome moisturizers.

But really, it stings just a little bit - kind of lightly tingly in a not cool way but bearable. After a couple of times though, you won't notice the tinglyness. I don't feel it at all anymore.

Hope your skin recovers!

Between tattoos and having the fickle skin of a redhead, I too have issues with itching/moisturizing. I've fallen in love with the moisturizers from Oyin Homemade - everything they make works better for me than the super-fancy Lubriderm stuff, and it smells better and is free of all the chemicals that sometimes irritate my skin. Also, did I mention the scent? The perfumes and general moisturizer scent, even with unscented moisturizer, really irritate me for some reason; I have a sensitivity to perfumes/scented detergents, so I have to be really careful about moisturizers with fragrance.

Anyway, their "Whipping Pudding" is amazing moisturizer, and their "Whipped Shea Butter" is fantastic too - the whipped shea butter is more concentrated, so I find it works best on spots like elbows/knees that tend to get cracked. It also comes in my favorite scent, Black Cedar Fig - I've been using their all-natural deodorant for a couple years now and that scent is just plain awesome ( ... )
