Soooo tired. I have a bunch of comments and e-mails that need responses, so if you've sent me an e-mail recently (especially in response to my long RL post from a few days ago), I am working on responding, I promise. In the meantime, here is a meme from scrollgirl.
I think the gist of this one is that you comment and I pick seven of your interests and then you make a post talking about them? Something like that. Here is what Scroll picked for me.
gilmore girls as cats - This is a gag from an old TDS segment. Like, hella old. Like, Stephen was still on TDS old. It's from about four years ago and it's one of my absolute favorite TDS segments ever. It was right about the Jeff Gannon gay scandal. Stephen talks about bloggers, first by "outing" himself as Adolf Hitler's grandson and then by talking about eating a panda ("In my own defense, it was dark, I was drunk, and it was delicious.")... anyway, after that, he talks about how the bloggers used to be harmless because all they covered was Gilmore Girls fanfiction or cute things their cats did or photoshopped images of the Gilmore Girls as cats.
_morning_glow and I were obsessed with Gilmore Girls as cats. I don't quite know why, but at one point we actually photoshopped the Gilmore Girls' faces onto cats. It was AWESOME. (eta: Dude I found it!)
It's great. I love how much Stephen cracks Jon up. None of the new(er) correspondents can make Jon laugh the way Stephen used to. But it's just hilarious all around. I don't know if you can see this outside of the US, but it's worth it to spend five minutes just watching the video XD
major lorne: tortured artist - Um, I can't remember the origin of this. OH YEAH. It started with the picture Ronon has in "Reunion." Before the deleted scene with his buddies surfaced, we decided that he forced Lorne to paint it for him and it DESTROYED LORNE'S SOUL because he was a serious artist and Ronon was asking for garbage, for something that someone would get airbrushed on their hair metal band's van. Because, seriously, that painting is HILARIOUS.
sam carter apparently - This one is easy! I never used to like Sam Carter. I mean, for years I just couldn't stand her. Making fun of her while watching SG-1 was a pastime of mine. But SGA warmed me up to her, especially "Grace Under Pressure" and "McKay and Mrs. Miller." By the time it was announced she'd be taking over as commander of Atlantis, I was so excited I couldn't wait for the premiere of S4. Sam is just awesome--smart, hot, funny, laid back, and she's got great chemistry (mostly platonic and occasionally romantic) with everyone.
sam/will - Sam/Will! What was previously my unsung TWW OTP! Now it's pretty much all I write. Heh. Funny how things change XD God, there are a million things I love about Sam and Will. I normally ship best friends. It's kind of my thing. I'm not usually one of those people who ships something where the characters only meet once. In fact, I usually look down my nose at those people. But something about Sam and Will, their interactions, the way Will's race seemed to breathe life back into Sam... something about it stuck with me. I love the little interactions we got between the characters, and with Sam out of the picture permanently after Will left, it was easy to fill in the blanks. (Until John Wells and his team of idiots messed that up for good.) While Will is set up to be a "replacement" for Sam, he's very much his own person in a million ways. His personality and Sam's are vastly different, and he brings a different perspective to the Bartlet team. I just feel like that compliment each other very well and they have AMAZING chemistry. I can't tell you how thrilled I am everytime I find a new fan of the pairing XD
(And, seriously, converting people to Sam/Will is one of my main pastimes. If I haven't tried to convert you yet, believe me when I tell you I will XD)
stephen colbert sexualizing food - Stephen does this incredibly frequently, but the two instances that caused me to list that as an interest are the time he fellated a banana and any of the times he ordered a pizza. Oh, and when he said baby carrots were making him gay. Well, wrote about baby carrots making him gay. Basically, Stephen likes to play gay and likes to use food to do it.
teyla/lesbian(s) - Teyla is superhot. She gets a million times hotter when having sex with other women. Sam, Cadman, Vala, Bio, Kate Heightmeyer, and even Keller. I ship Teyla with all the ladies, guys.
wishbone - OH MY GOD WISHBONE. Okay! Wishbone is a kids' teevee show on PBS here in the states. Well, it was a kids' show when I was a kid. Wishbone was a dog and he was owned by a kid named Joe and he loved to read! Each episode would involve Joe and his friends and family getting into some sort of situation that would remind Wishbone of a classic book. The episode would alternate scenes of Joe and his family and friends working on whatever they're working on and scenes from the classic book with Wishbone in one of the starring roles. It was my FAVORITE SHOW, even though I was a little older than the target age range. My parents got me a stuffed Wishbone for Christmas when I was nine or ten and I still have him and take him everywhere with me. I used to take pictures of him with celebrities and stuff and it was pretty awesome.
