krabapple just sent me the best text message ever. She beat out my previous Best Text Message Ever, which she also sent. I was detailing my epic game of Oregon Trail to her and griping that Josh was a terrible wagon leader because everyone died. First CJ, then Toby, then Sam, and finally Donna and Josh. And she said:
"Awww! It's kind of like 20 Hours in America, except with oxen and dysentary."

This is how I'm spending my Friday night. Playing Oregon Trail on teh internets. And writing a tiny Iowa story about sleeping in. Or attempting to, at least.
I'd like to throw out another fic recommendation, if I may. I know I already plugged this, but I'm going to do it again.
Anywhere But In Between by inocciduous is a lovely AU for sam_will_stuff. Josh comes to California to ask Sam to join Santos' team as DCoS, and Sam says... no. There's some lovely, lovely images of the life Sam has formed with Will, a great pillow talk scene, and really lovely insight into Sam and Will finding happiness outside of DC. To top it off, all of that is packed into less than 1000 words. I love this story, guys. You should seriously read it.
