Guys, how hard would I do Rachel Maddow? I mean, seriously. I don't think I have ever been so in love with a newscaster. My love for her surpasses my love for past BFFs Sanjay Gupta and Dan Abrams. (Andy Cooper is in his own category of BFF-hood, obvs.) (Also, I think my seduction of Rachel would be better than the drunken sex I would have with Keith after we spend an evening screaming things that we both agree with at each other.)
I think what I really like is that she's so calm. No one yells and flails on her show. She's respectful of everyone, and when she disses the right (which she does a lot), she does it very level-headedly, unlike some people I can think of, whom I both like (Keeeeith) and dislike (someone set fire to Chris Matthews please).
Anyway. RACHEL MADDOW, GUYS. WHAT EVEN.

So, last year I did a thing called
14valentines wherein I posted every day for the first 14 days of February with female-positive stories, articles, lists, et cetera. One of the things people said most frequently was that they hadn't heard of this before and they wish they had known in advance so they could sign up.
Here is your warning, guys :D
You can sign up until January 22, and all you have to do to sign up is join the community. You can post one day or all fourteen days and there's no penalty if something comes up and you fail to post on a day you signed up for. It's a great celebration of women in fandom and women in the world, and in an age where people don't seem to understand that the very definition of feminism means equality for all people, it's a message we can't afford to lose. Plus, it makes you feel closer to a lot of other women out there who share their personal stories.
So, think about it and then take an amble over there.
14valentines! It will be fabulous, guys.
