When I was a little kid, "The Invaders" scared the shit out of me, moreso than any other episode. And, let's face it, some scary shit goes on in The Twilight Zone. Not by today's standards of horror (today's standards being "let's see how bloody we can make this scene before the censors cut us off"), but really terrifying stuff. "The Invaders" was what did it for me, though. I think it's a couple of things put together, to be honest. The total lack of dialogue, not to mention how incredibly terrified Agnes Moorehead is. What a fabulous actor. Her fear is so tangible that, as a kid, I could barely stand to watch. I was completely terrified. Even now I get creeped out while watching it.
"A Stop at Willoughby" is on now, which isn't a favorite of mine, but "Five Characters in Search of Exit" is on at four, so I might stay up. Ooo, and "It's a Good Life" is on at 3pm tomorrow. Sweet!
Happy New Year, f-list. I hope yours is as filled with Rod Serling as mine is!
