stand up for the deeds i did and those i didn't do

heeeeeeeey guys.

So... the Indy happened today? But I didn't really help? All that much. This week was kind of a dry run for next year's staff. Emily couldn't work on the issue because it's the elections issue and she's running for something and I was out yesterday and then just so exhausted today because I haven't slept in about two days that I was no help. Also, I spent most of the day with Steven, trying to help him with election related things. As Chair of the Senate, it's his job to run the elections and he's losing his mind, just about. Also, I sit on the elections committee, apparently, so I had to go to the candidates' forum to read questions and time statements and stuff.

It wasn't all that bad.

In more Indy related news, however, The Brick came out today. Some brief background for you non-Purchase people: The Purchase Independent is the newspaper I slave over every week. It's been around for like, five or six years. It's had some rough points, but we've basically got it to the best it's ever been. However, a group of students decided that they didn't like that we apparently don't have any journalistic integrity, so they thought they'd just... start their own paper. For various Student Government related reasons, you can't just do that without approval, and they didn't get approval, but they were allowed to make a "trial issue" in order to argue their case more effectively. It took them three weeks to put it together and they distributed it all over campus, even though they weren't supposed to.

I'm not, however, too worried about it because we got our hands on it today and...

Well, it's not pretty.

I mean that literally. The layout is awful. Which, I know, first issue and all, I'm a terrible person, etc, but seriously. Seriously. Layout is my thing and it's not that hard. It's not that hard to look at little things, like the fact that... gah, I can't even describe it. The layout was a clusterfuck and it made me feel really good about myself.

But yeah, the point is, I spent most of today lounging around the PSGA office and the Indy office, doing next to nothing and/or making photocopies for Steven. Good times. I'm exhausted.

I think I'm having a House season one renassiance. manman85 just started watching and so did someone else on my flist and it just kind of makes me miss the days when I was so so so so very fannish about that show. When every post in my journal was about how gay House and Wilson are, or how gay RSL and Ethan Hawke are. Oh wow. Good times.

But mostly I was thinking about "Babies and Bathwater" and how it's still one of my favourite episodes of television ever. I know everyone loves "Three Stories," and I love it too, don't get me wrong, but "Babies and Bathwater" was really my favourite episode. That scene between House and Wilson in Wilson's office? It breaks my heart. Every. Single. Time. Thinking about it still makes me wince in sympathy for both House and Wilson because--hey, they're both hurting in that scene and it's just... gah. It's awful. I love it. It makes me want to dig out my old unfinished House/Wilson fics. I started nearly a dozen that summer between S1 and S2 and maybe I should finish them one day. It would be fun times, I think.

Happy Birthday, harmonyangel! I was going to post some DPS fic for you, but then I got distracted by all that nothingness that I did today. If I get a better handle on myself tonight/tomorrow, I'll see what I can come up with. But welcome to the world of being able to drink legally! It's... kind of like the world before, except now you can get into bars.

Shower, then bed. I swear. It's going to happen tonight. Sleep, I mean.
