[Drabble] Not for your entertainment

So... the technology war was waged and I barely avoided losing it! I swear I've been without a laptop for most of this year, yeuck. Anyway, to celebrate the return to the internet, let's post some angst! 8D/

Not for your entertainment
EbiKisu - Kawai, Fujigaya
431 words, PG, canon-fic
Fujigaya just doesn't want Kawai looking.

[Notes]So this was written ages ago during a game of 10minutes with Kara. Prompt was "just because i'm on a diet doesn't mean i can't look at the menu" and we wrote parallel fics for it, l m a o. Anyway, *pets Fujigaya's body issues, past or present*

It had been easy to ignore at first - it was almost a game to see how long Fujigaya could ignore Kawai - but the longer the staring went, the more hyperaware of it Fujigaya was. Maybe it was just because he’d come out of the shower, but now he felt half-trapped by Kawai’s stare.

“What?” he finally asked, turning to the other bed as he toweled his hair off.

“Nothing,” Kawai said, humming to himself. But then his eyes dropped down and Fujigaya snatched up his shirt.

“Is this going to be a problem? Because if it is, I’m totally crashing with Wataru and Tama.” Fujigaya eyed Kawai as he finished getting dressed.

Uncomfortable. That’s what it was.

He wasn’t used to that feeling around Kawai and he didn’t like it at all. Kawai was one of those friends who horsed around a lot but was reliable and trustworthy. He knew things, understood things. Or so Fujigaya had thought.

“Why would it be a problem?” Kawai laughed, waving a hand at him.

“I dunno, maybe the way you’re staring at me like I’m packaged meat?” Fujigaya snapped. Kawai should know better, for a lot of different reasons. It stung, to see him so casual and dismissive.

“I’m in a relationship, not dead,” Kawai said with a smirk. “What’s the harm in looking.”

“I don’t want you looking at me, dammit.” Fujigaya realized that he was tensing up, his systems switching into stress mode and damn Kawai for doing that to him. He felt a touch of anger that Kawai had basically backed him into a corner.

It must have showed on his face, because Kawai instantly sobered, sitting upright. “Shit, I’m sorry. It’s just-” He paused, searching for the words to say. They both fell into silence.

Fujigaya tried not to pull the blankets around him in an attempt to hide. It was just Kawai. The past was the past and Kawai was an ass (har har) but Kawai knew. He got it. This was just spillover, mess from whatever was going on in Kawai's life right now.

“I’m going over to Watta’s,” he said finally, sliding off the bed to snag his jacket. “Text me if you need anything."

“Taisuke,” Kawai called, but Fujigaya didn’t stop as he headed out the door. He’d forgive Kawai, of course, but this was a problem that Fujigaya knew he couldn’t help Kawai with. Space would just have to be enough for now.
