Rehearsals were finished and everyone else had packed up and left when Yamamoto caught Yara's hands, pulling him close with a soft, almost shy smile. "Yaracchi~," he began and paused, looking unsure. Yara waited patiently, because it was Yamamoto's chance. After a few moments of silence, Yamamoto bit his lip and squared his shoulder, that familiar spark of nervous determination in his eyes. Instead of speaking, he leaned in to kiss Yara full on the mouth.
It was a sweet kiss, a good first kiss, and Yara was smiling contentedly when Yamamoto pulled away, cheeks red and suddenly not quite as courageous as he’d been moments before.
"Mm," Yara hummed, nosing into Yamamoto's dimple. "You could have just said it... but I like it like this too.” It had been worth the wait. Not just the few moments it had taken Yamamoto to kiss him, but the months and even years of teasing and touching and hinting.
Yamamoto averted his eyes for a moment, shuffling his feet on the floor before darting forward again, pecking Yara on the cheek.
"I love you," he whispered, barely audible, before he tugged himself out of Yara's hold, dancing away. Yara laughed, giving chase.
Yamamoto was worth capturing, Yara thought, catching the boy so he could press their lips together one more time. "Love you too~."
