Disclaimer: This work is purely fiction.
Warnings: Hm.
A/N: Something that probably will never be seen unless looked for. Unfinished because I can't for the life of me think of what leads up to this properly. But I liked Takaki in this so I figured it deserved to be properly posted to the comm. Perhaps I am being a little too harsh on Jin, but eh. It's unfinished, I can't help it.
Takaki stepped away and Jin was surprised to find that the boy was smiling as he dipped down into a slight bow.
“Akanishi-kun,” the younger man began as he straightened up. “Once upon a time you were my hero. Everything I wanted to be. An amazing singer, a brilliant lyricist, the guy that everyone wanted to be around. It didn't really get better when I was casted as Yamato, because really, Hayato was so cool.” Takaki's smile became a tad far-away looking as he spoke. “I tried so hard to be like you. Everything from my hairstyle to the way I dressed. I really wanted to be cool like you.”
Jin felt like this words should have flattered him. Somehow they weren't.
“But you know, looking back... I really had no personality back during those few years,” Takaki chuckled softly, shaking his head. “I wasn't me... I was trying too hard to be you. And I was never going to be you.”
“It may not make a difference to you,” Takaki continued. “But I had to find myself. And the more I looked, the more I realized that you were everything I didn't want to be. Well... Maybe not everything,” he amended. “But I'm me. And you...well.” The apologetic smile returned to Takaki's face as he inclinded his head again. “I'm not interested. Sorry.”

“I told you to stay away from him,” Nakamaru sighed, gently whacking Jin over the head. “Kouhai aren't playtoys. You're lucky he had enough sense to tell you no. What about when you'd decide to drop him and move on to something more interesting?” His tone of voice was disapproving. “Maybe sometime soon you'll start thinking about things other then your dire need to get laid.”
Jin rolled his eyes, burying himself deeper into his drink. “You don't have to fucking rub it in that I'm not getting laid.”
There was a long pause.
“Why do I even put up with you?”
