july
july is one of my favourite months. this is the month where people are happy to go out and sit on a patio or grab a drink. it's a great time to reconnect with old friends and get to know new ones. plus, if things get awkward you can always order another appletini or sangria.
good things always happen in july, engagements, weddings and baby showers! i absolutely love how so much happiness and joy comes in one month. i also love it because it's a slower month of work, a lot of people go on vacation and everything becomes less complicated. i love the fact that people are more carefree with their fashion and aren't afraid of wearing bolder and brighter colours. i am definately guilty of setting myself in comfortable blues, greys and blacks. in the summer, i'm not afraid of the bright greens, yellows, fushia's and oranges.. kinda liberating =P
this july, i ordered myself a canon rebel xs as an early gift to myself. generally, i don't splurge that much on anything but i thought that it would be great. i love taking photos just for fun. it's pretty evident that i am not a professional nor will i near the professional stage. i do love taking pictures of the people i love and the things i love. for me, that was justification in itself to get myself the camera. on top of that, my point and shoot was getting a little dated. it was the canon sd450 a 5.0 megapixel camera.. i know.. super dated. it's lasted me so long and it's quite trusty! i still bring it around with me anyways.
so for the pro photographers probably rolling their eyes thinking "what a wannabe.." here are my words for you. i may not be good, but i do enjoy learning new things. i don't do things to be "cool" or to join the "crowd" because that's just pure stupidity. come to think of it, i really don't need to justify what i do or not do to anyone /shrug so essentially, i will leave it at that.
what's up and coming for me? i have a few dinner dates coming up to hang out with friends of mine.. i definately like the 1 on 1 dinner dates because it's easier to focus on the conversation. i can't stand a ton of people jabbering louder and louder because they can't hear one another. i have my best friend's baby shower on saturday, which i have my reservations about and, in early august, i'm off to sunny florida.. well i'm hoping a hurricane will bring in a substantial swell for me to boogie board =D
