Lords and Ladies it has been a while!

A few weeks ago

cryptoshaman
pointed out that I never update my journal, since then during spare moments I've been pondering how long it has been since I last even looked here let alone posted...oh am I ashamed its been forever...well a bloody long time.
I haven't wanted to bore people with my stuff but then I've been doing doing that dangerous thing...aye thinking!  I started this journal to bounce my ideas around for projects and keep an eye on the activities of all you disreputable souls and have I? Nope and there isn't one decent reason for it either, bad Erin's.

This will be a bit of a catch up post, no ideas as such to put down, not because I haven't got any but because they're all trapped in my notebooks at the far end of my work room which is currently a sea of boxes and stuff I need to clear though.  Sentimental junk that needs thinning out, hoarded bits of paper that I have no answer for and other stuff that I don't want to even ask why I picked up let alone kept.  Oh yeah and baby things but they're tucked in the corner behind the door so that I don't get snuck up on too often...I'm getting better I can look at them now and even understand what they do, never realised socks came that small!

Baby Stuff

I'll get this out of the way first, I'm pretty sure you all know about the expected addition now although people do keep appearing and freaking out because I've forgotten to tell them...I'm bad.
Well today is week 36 only 4 weeks to go give or take, I somehow doubt that any child does as it is supposed to so we shall see.
Tonight is my first ante natal class and keen I am not...all those other pregnant women in a room, should I be this freaked out by it?  I've tried to think calm, logical thoughts even tried to think fluffy, enthusiastic thoughts and it aint happening I have become the queen of understated panic Woo!
Don't think it helps that I'm in hospital twice weekly at the moment for tests as the mite isn't growing as it should, still no idea what it is other than lively with a strong heartbeat unfortunately it is smaller than they are happy with and unless these tests show otherwise its growth is tapering off a bit too soon.  Me eating more won't make a difference and they can't tell me anything more about why this is happening although I won't worry too much while it keeps jiving the way it is!
Specialist for my back has been superb with all the help and advice, she's made it clear that I have to consider the possibility f being in a wheelchair as the worst case scenario so there's lots of new things to consider but alls well.  Worst case scenarios are like that they throw up lots of what ifs to prepare for hehe gives me things to take my mind off all the silly worries.

Mouse Liberation  - Tally 4

Those of you who came to the craft day here may remember a certain tricksy little rodent that was on the loose and stealing our bread.  Well thanks to the loan of a humane mouse trap from cryptoshaman and
purplepooka
said rodent was detained and released far enough away to prevent return in the Cathedral gardens, it seemed happy enough to be out and about even though it was still a baby.  Hormones on overload I worried about it for days when it rained, was it ok, was it lonely and so on...hmm I'm going soft happily release of mouse number 2 in the same place reassured me they now have company and I'm sure they'll be fine.
One mouse is never just one mouse especially when we there are two, so we've kept putting the trap down baited with all sorts of goodies. Peanut butter was a dead loss the mouse kept getting in eating the peanut and getting out without tripping the trap - a four footed Houdini it would seem! Honey and banana appear to be the much more successful so the hunt continues.
Our current tally of tiny re-homed guests stands at 4, a small tribe is currently forming in the grounds of the Anglican Cathedral watch yourselves after dark!
As yet there have been no further signs perhaps that is all of them...perhaps.

Birthday

Had a lovely birthday once again stalking the red squirrels at Formby and meandering along the beach collecting random sea shells, poking jelly fish and thoroughly enjoying being 26 going on 6.
Weather was glorious although it did bring out far more people than I have ever seen on that beach and squirrels seem to be shy around screaming children, perhaps I should have gone on a week day.  We did see some including one tiny little soul disguised as a weasel, somehow it only had a little tuft instead of a full bushy tail and on first sight I was unconvinced that it was a squirrel.
We walked for miles and I'm still paying for it today, good job I'm not at work now.

Other stuff

Been playing catch up with everything else, its great to actually have the time to do it.

  • Blitzing house and establishing some semblance of tidy.
  • Painting  woodwork  - run out  of paint though  so will have to head out for more at some point.
  • Medicating Mohawk - poor thing has some sort  of fish parasite that will not die.
  • Handling Spook getting her used to the idea that fingers are not edible and being picked up is not the most terrifying experience known to hamster kind.
  • Baking Lemon drizzle cake - yum
  • Crafty stuff
  • oh yes and sleeping far too much dormouse mimicry going on here!

Well I shall now meander off and leave you all be.  If anyone has any ideas on staving off impending stir craziness let me know, I think there is only so much I can tidy before I start eyeing the list of things that I have been banned from doing...they are so interesting and I do love a challenge!
Likewise anyone wants to pop round for a drink and cake please do!
