8:00-10:00 Mandarin Crash Course Set-Up
So I didn't sleep the night before because I was excited about the picnic. I got picked up early to attend a Mandarin crash course because of my upcoming TRIP TO CHINA. I helped them set up tables and chairs and stuff.
10:00-12:00 Mandarin Crash Course
The course was total balls. It was aptly named though because I CRASHED and BURNED. The person teaching the class started spouting Mandarin halfway through like she was already IN China. Frig. I think I learned how to properly count to 10 but even that I'm not entirely confident about. I raised the issue a few times during the class and she tried to comply but I'm pretty sure she was ESL so she switched back to 100% Mandarin fairly quickly. Anyways, I don't want to go to the second part of this two course nightmare.
12:00-5:00 Cosplay Picnic
So after the seminar, I got dropped off at home. I stuffed my costume and a 12 pack of nestea into my knapsack while I packed my props and a bag of chips into a plastic bag. TTCed downtown, found the ferrys okay and wandered around the island a bit before finding the picnic. It was a very diverse group of people. Lots of people I wanted to see more of at AN but didn't get a chance to. It was nice. Andy's wrenches + Dr. Stein's bolt was an unexpected hit. It was my first time visiting the island and I was not disappointed.
5:00-6:00 Trip Home
So I was on the bus on my way back home when I got a call on my cell. It was Pam. She was downtown and all alone and was meeting someone in about 6-7 hours. She didn't know who else to call. Being the nice guy that I am, I told her I'd be down in about an hour.
6:00-6:20 Shower and stuffs
I got home, dropped all my picnic junk, took a quick shower and left the house with some stuff she needed. As I was leaving my house, I spotted a wasp nest on the ground. If you follow my LJ at all, you'd know what this means. For those of you who are just tuning in, it means I get a new specimen to examine :3
6:20-7:20 Back downtown
Yeah I don't know why I added this in. Not very eventful. Just me going downtown again via the public transports.
7:20-11:00 Bonding time with Pam
And so I met up with Pam and we talked for a while and headed to the arcade and played these REALLY, REALLY old school arcade games like... Raiden III and Double Dragon. Also, a little bit of House of the Dead for me (second player gun was busted TT__TT). Afterwards, we wandered around downtown looking for a Starbucks because Pam thought they'd have free wireless. After about 30 minutes of searching, we discovered they did not. We actually went into a Tim Hortons and (Pam) asked if they knew how to get to the closest Starbucks. Seriously awkward.
We ended up going to the Strathcona and using their pay internet so Pam could book another hotel closer to the airport.
We then went to East Side Mario's, which I only like going to because they have all-you-can-soup soup (they also have all-you-can-salad salad, but salad isn't food. Salad is the promise that food will come). However, for this reason alone, I also love East Side Mario's. So we talked some more and had a nice dinner and then we shared a Funnel Cake for desert (I can't believe I couldn't finish it...). She also paid for dinner because she felt guilty for calling me down (I AM SUCH A GENTLEMAN DX). I chipped in a little bit for the funnel cake.
As we walked to Union station, I saw some people carring a flag and it made me think of Hetalia. Upon closer inspection, the people WERE from Hetalia and were actually from the cosplay picnic. Furthermore, Kristy and Sheena were among them! So Pam got to catch up a little with them before we all had to part ways.

MORE ACTION! Barely... Pam was going to take a taxi to her booked hotel so I got on the subway with Kristy and Sheena. I was wayyyyyy too tired to carry a conversation at this point, which is really sad because I always want to talk to them but they're always busy. Anyways, they got off, I went home, MSNed for a bit and then coma'd.
